Due to the extensive need for Avalon homes we are growing at a tremendous
rate. The only factor limiting
the speed at which we
can meet the needs of our communities is adequate staffing. Avalon has tremendous
opportunities for career minded individuals who have a genuine desire to succeed,
but more importantly, a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our
special residents. Avalon is currently recruiting for the following positions:
POSITION TITLE: Chief Primary Caregiver
STRUCTURE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The Chief Primary Caregiver provides
personal care to the residents in the home and assures that all
company policies, standards, and Resident's rights are observed
at all times. Is responsible for the daily operation of the Home.
Reports to the District Director, supervises the Primary Caregiver,
Hourly
Staff, PRN Staff.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Assists Residents as needed to assure
that all personal needs, as outlined in "Personally From The
Caregiver", are
met in a timely manner
- Administers medications to Residents
in accordance with training standards and assures that medications
are ordered as
needed and that medication charts, Resident logs and other records
are kept up-to-date
- Is knowledgeable at all times regarding
Resident behavior problems; effect and effectiveness of medications;
changes in
behavior, appetite and sleeping habits; doctor's appointments;
family outings; and other pertinent information
- Reports significant changes with the
Resident to the District Director, family and physician as appropriate
- Assures
that the care plan for each Resident is followed
and updated at least every 60 days
- Assures that the home is clean, orderly,
and safe at all times and does the laundry of the Home regularly
- Monitors upkeep of yard, trash removal, snow
removal, and refers all problems concerning the home or yard to
the District Director
- Prepares and follows 6 weeks of rotating
menus which meet nutritional standards and purchases all food
and
cleaning supplies, keeping a weekly account of
receipts and expenditures
- Plans the activities of the Home so
Residents have a
mix of rest, leisure and activity in accordance
with each care plan
- Provides regular daily and weekly activities;
Supervises and works with the Primary Caregiver and relief staff
- Becomes familiar with characteristics of dementia
and with effective techniques of managing emotional and behavioral
problems of the Residents
- Becomes familiar with licensing regulations
and assures compliance with all requirements, particularly fire
and safety requirement
- Interacts with Residents, families, neighbors,
and staff in a professional manner and immediately reports
any difficulties
- Participates in all staff education meetings;
Performs other reasonable duties as requested by the District
Director
- On request, assists with a sales presentation
at the home; Acts in the best interest of Avalon Residential
Care Homes, Inc. at all times
POSITION TITLE: Direct Care Staff
STRUCTURE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The Primary Caregiver provides personal care to the residents
in the home and assures that all company policies and standards
are followed during assignment
in the home. Reports to the Chief Primary Caregiver.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Knowledge of the Resident Assessment and
Plan of Care for each resident
- Assures that resident log records, charts,
journals, etc., are kept current
- Is knowledgeable and informed of home operation
details involving behavior monitoring, medication monitoring,
doctor appointments,
family visitation,
and other pertinent information
- Reports significant resident changes to
the Chief Primary Caregiver and District Director
- Prepares meals according to the weekly menu
plans and follows daily agenda
- Keeps the home clean, organized and safe,
and does the laundry regularly as needed
- Monitors overall condition of the property
and refers all home or yard problems to the District Director
- Provides appropriate activities in accordance
with each resident's "Personally
From The Caregiver" and Plan of Care
- Provides personal assistance with bathing,
dressing, oral hygiene, and grooming.
- Provides timely assistance for incontinent
residents
- Becomes familiar with characteristics of
dementia and effective coping techniques, to include, but not
limited to redirection
techniques as well as creative intervention
- Is knowledgeable with licensing regulations
and compliance requirements
- Interacts with residents, families, and
other staff in a professional manner
- Participates in all required staff education
meetings
- Adheres to company appearance guidelines
upon employment
- On request, assists with a sales presentation
in the home
- Performs other reasonable duties as requested
by the District Director as well as other upper management
- Acts in the best interest of Avalon Residential
Care Homes, Inc. at all times
